One-Hand Left
Home row anchored on the left hand. Color-coded finger zones. Every letter reachable without crossing the midline.
Launching 2026 · iOS · Android · Mac · Windows
Keystar is the accessible typing tutor for the way your hands actually work — from first post-stroke attempts to pro one-handed speeds to a proud return to all ten fingers.
Every typing tutor on the market assumes two steady hands on a standard keyboard. For millions of people that assumption quietly ends a career, a hobby, a way to message loved ones. Keystar starts from the opposite premise: your hands are how they are today, and that is enough to begin.
Hemiparesis leaves one hand weaker or unusable. Recovery is non-linear — you need a tool that meets you where you are and moves with you as you heal.
A lifelong one-handed typist deserves a tutor that treats single-hand layouts as first-class citizens, not a checkbox buried in settings.
Carpal tunnel, tendonitis, fracture. Resting one hand for weeks shouldn't mean losing your typing ability. Switch modes. Keep practicing.
I’m a stroke survivor. I built Keystar because every typing tutor I tried assumed my hands would cooperate the way they did five years ago. They don’t. Yours may not either. That’s the whole point.
Home row anchored on the left hand. Color-coded finger zones. Every letter reachable without crossing the midline.
Standard ten-finger typing. For users who had it, lost it, and want it back — or never lost it and want to get faster.
Home row anchored on the right hand. Mirror of Mode 01 — same pedagogy, opposite side. Switch to match your reality.
Each mode supports QWERTY, one-handed Dvorak, and (for one-hand modes) Half-QWERTY. Six effective layouts. One app. No compromise.
Most apps assume a static user. Keystar assumes a changing one. As your ability evolves, the app nudges — never forces — a gentle progression.
First week after a stroke or injury. Tier 1 lessons. Gentle difficulty. No timers. Big targets.
25+ WPM with your chosen hand. Keystar unlocks arcade modes and specialty drills.
“You’re hitting 30 WPM one-handed. Try adding your second hand for five minutes?” Soft invitation, never forced.
Progress in both modes continues to count. Your one-handed streak and stars never disappear — they’re part of your story.
QWERTY, one-handed Dvorak (L & R), and Half-QWERTY — in one-hand and two-hand modes. Every layout treated as first-class.
Meteor Typer, Word Rocket, Constellation Forge. Typing practice that earns you time instead of spending it.
Every lesson you finish lights a star. Tiers form constellations. The map is your progress.
Keystar watches which keys you miss and generates a two-minute drill on your weakest five. Practice what actually hurts.
Dyslexia font, color-blind palettes, reduced-motion, text-to-speech lesson prompts, low-stimulation mode. Accessibility is never a paywall.
No internet required for lessons. Streaks don't break on a spotty hospital Wi-Fi. Your data stays on your device unless you opt into sync.
Every Keystar dashboard shows five metrics — tuned to motivate without shaming.

Keystar is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA from day one — not as a retrofit, not as an enterprise upsell. Every accessibility feature is in the free tier.
Anyone typing with fewer than ten fingers — by choice, by circumstance, or in transition. That includes stroke and TBI survivors, amputees, people recovering from RSI, parents of disabled children, occupational therapists, and power users wanting one-hand fluency.
No. Onboarding includes a 30-second “help me choose” quiz. You can also switch layouts at any time in settings — progress is preserved.
Public v1.0 is targeted for late 2026 on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS. Join the waitlist for beta access — our first 200 beta users shape the final product.
Yes. All lessons, arcade modes, and progress tracking work fully offline. Cloud sync is opt-in and only available on the Premium subscription.
No. Keystar is a typing practice tool, not a medical device. We don’t make therapy claims. Many occupational therapists recommend typing practice as part of broader rehab — Keystar fits that use case gracefully, but it’s not a substitute for professional care.
MVP ships in English. Hindi, Tamil, and other languages are planned for 2026–2027 as content packs.
Every major typing tutor treats one-handed typing as an afterthought — a setting buried three menus deep. Keystar builds the whole app around it, then adds two-handed as a graceful extension. We also support the widest layout set (QWERTY + Dvorak + Half-QWERTY in both modes), meet WCAG 2.1 AA, and are built by someone who actually needs this tool.
We’ll only email you when the beta opens — no newsletter, no noise.
